Theo

Theo means “god” in Greek. What´s more, it´s also an anagram of the surname of Patrick Hoet, one of the founders of the label. No doubt everyone gets the hint that Mr. Hoet is also the god of eyewear design.

The company´s slogan is “Theo loves you”. No, really — founder Wim and Patrick and, along with them, all the label´s employees really do love you. Because you are a potential customer — slightly capricious, if the truth be told — so loving you is the first in line of their responsibilities.

All their other responsibilities cropped up during the production process. For example, right from the start of things in 1987, Patrick and Wim stressed that anyone wearing glasses by them should not just look good, but also be able to see well — when all´s said and done these aren´t just some trendy accessory but spectacles that are about as serious as they come. The label´s first trend-line, Eyewitness, was created in 1995 and reflects its creators´ whole philosophy — fighting against the established rules of eyewear design as well as a desire to create something new. Theo presented its first collection of sunglasses in 2001.

Their latest eyewear collection was created in 2006. As usual, Theo wasn´t afraid of using new technology to create glasses that will appeal to anyone who loves quality, originality and exclusivity. In Russia, Theo´s lines are represented only by Cara&Co.
