Kevyn Aucoin

For some reason one always feels more inclined to trust a cosmetics producer who didn´t just decide to start making cosmetics some time and somewhere or other, but has actually worked in the field for a long while and knows just what you need to hide your shortcomings and play up your best features. Kevyn Aucoin is America´s most famous and most influential make-up artist, and was the only person Liz Taylor, Tina Turner, Audrey Hepburn, Witney Houston and Isabella Rosellini would allow to create their image — in the literal sense. Kevyn knows just how to make any woman of any age look beautiful and tried to pass on his experience in the no less than three books that he wrote on the subject. But then he realised that these books would only help a woman understand how to make herself up, whereas knowing what to use to make herself up was a bit more tricky. So eventually in 2001 Kevyn set up a cosmetics company bearing his own name.

Exactly one year later Kevyn died of cancer.

His adoptive mother Isidore and business partner Eric Sakas carried on producing his cosmetics, the idea behind which was set down by Kevyn himself — “Beauty is everywhere, in every face, in every soul. I sometimes even notice it in myself. Let it out.”
