The design process begins with an extraordinary frame: perhaps of gold, sterling silver or brass with set stones, carved mahogany, or highly collectible bakelite. The frame is then surrounded by duchess silk-satins, unusual textured skins, luxurious fur, or delicate crewel work. Combinations of rare beads, exotic gems, feathers and floral appliques are used to adorn each limited edition piece. A delicate lining completes the bag with a shiny signature penny sewn in — the promise of prosperity.
